Embroidery Process
Let’s start with digitizing:

What exactly is digitizing?
Digitizing is the process of converting a file into a sequence of instructions the embroidery machine can interpret to sew thread in a specific way. First, we have to trace the graphic design of your logo to be embroidered and capture as much detail as possible for embroidery and also program the commands on how the embroidery will stitch-out; knowing the type of fabric and the type of garment embroidered is basic to programming what type of stitch and in what order and direction the stitching is needed to make sure the embroidery comes out perfect.

Verifying a digitized Image.
There is a digital sew-out provided by the software, this print out does not completely reveal the quality of the embroidery, since we are an embroidery service business, we do an embroidered sew-out to verify the quality of the embroidery before we do the actual embroidery.

How long does it take to digitize?
Depends on the complexity of the image and the experience of the digitizer, but it could take a couple of hours or more.

* It is important to point out that a specialized software for digitizing is required.
Now that we have the image in embroidery format we go to the next step:

Hooping process:
Depending on what garment will be embroidered we pick the correct hoop. We invest in a wide variety of hoops to make sure the outcome is what we need. In many cases this is a time-consuming process because this is where the apparel being embroidered must be measured individually to make sure the placement of the embroidery is located where the customer requires it.

Adding the correct backing/topping:
Backing is the process of adding a unique fabric used to give support to the garment that is being embroidered. There are a wide variety of backings available that go on the back and toppings that go on the front of the garments being embroidered and picking the correct backing/topping is an essential part of the embroidery process to ensure the quality of the printout.

Color Analysis:
In this part of the process, we pick the correct colors based on the original image and the digitized image, we pick the needle size and the correct thread size needed based on the garment to be embroidered to ensure the quality of the embroidery.

Now that we the garment embroidered:

Preparing the garment for delivery:
Once the garment is embroidered each and every item has to go through a cleaning process where small threads must be eliminated on both sides of the garment. So having a correctly digitized image, well hooped garment and having a quality control process of each item embroidered is how we deliver a high-quality product.

There is a lot more to the embroidery process than meets the eye, but this is a quick abstract to understand what the embroidery process is like.
